Falling Waters State Park

Falling Waters State Park was on my list of “must visit” places while camping at Torreya State Park. I have to say that I was very happy that I hiked it.

Falling Waters State park is located in Chipley, Florida. It is home to Florida’s tallest waterfall at 73 feet to the bottom and 20 feet wide.

Keep in mind, the best time to visit Falling Waters is when the park experiences a great deal of rain. It was a small trickle when I went, but I have seen photos from right after it storms and it is beautiful. I definitely plan to go back and visit when there is a bit more waterfall flow.

The park also has hiking trails and a campground. I was only able to hike one of the trails because the others were a bit damaged from Hurricane Michael. I did not stay at the campground, but I did go and take a look to see about future stays and it seems nice and clean.

This was definitely worth the trip.

Happy Hiking!
